Hot! Bowl Games 2011

Bowl Games 2011 : Seven most anticipated outside of the BCS Games

The debate is over for the BCS Standings as the Alabama Crimson Tide faces LSU Tigers in the BCS National Championship game. Of course the joy of watching the BCS games cannot be neglected because these are the best teams in the nation, aside from Virginia Tech and Michigan State probably which were selected with controversy.

By looking at the Bowl Games 2011 2012 Schedule, there are plenty of games that the fans want to see aside from the five BCS games. A list is here of the Seven Most Anticipated Bowl Games for 2011.

1. Florida State vs Notre Dame in the Champs Sports Bowl. Florida State is supposed to be in the BCS Games if the expectations came into fruition. The Seminoles ranked high at the start of the season yet they eventually fall into oblivion. Notre Dame showed that they can win games like the way they did in the month of November. Florida State s defense will be tested against the offense of the Fighting Irish. It is just a matter of which team will dominate before the start of the fourth quarter. Florida State vs Notre Dame is scheduled on December 29, 2011 at 5:30 PM and is telecast on ESPN.

2. Kansas State vs Arkansas in the Cotton Bowl. These two teams were left out. They are in the top 10 of the BCS Standings. For Arkansas, the team is not included for the rule says that only two teams maximum will play in the BCS Games. Even though Arkansas can claimed that their two losses came from the top two teams in the college football, they couldn t argue that much. For Kansas State, there s not much enough reasons while they were not given an invitation. Kansas State vs Arkansas will surely be an offensive shootout. The Cotton Bowl is scheduled on January 6, 2012 at 8:00 PM

3. Iowa vs Oklahoma in the Insight Bowl. A consolation game for the Oklahoma Sooners. The Sooners should have been one of the top 10 teams in college football but their losses to Texas Tech, Baylor, and Oklahoma State were great enough to bring them lower. Meanwhile, Iowa Hawkeyes played extremely well in most of their games but they couldn t get out of the shadow of Michigan, Michigan State, Wisconsin, and Nebraska. The Insight Bowl 2011 is going to be played on December 30 at 7:30 PM ET.

4. Houston vs Penn State in TicketCity Bowl. Houston was almost in the BCS Games but they failed to win their last game. It should have been the only team outside of BCS conferences to play in a BCS game instead they are selected to play in the TicketCity Bowl. The Nittany Lions also were succumbed by the controversies in the school. Joe Paterno was fired and the team lost its track on the football game. Before Paterno was fired, Nittany Lions were on top of the Big Ten Conference.

5. Michigan State vs Georgia in the Outback Bowl. Michigan State played toe-to-toe against Wisconsin in the Big Ten Championship game. The Spartans were almost in the Sugar Bowl but for a play. Georgia should have also be playing in the BCS game if they defeated No 1 LSU. It should have been three SEC teams in the BCS games. Both teams have to settle for the Outback Bowl. Expect for defensive game on the Bulldogs and Spartans as they have their showdown on January 2, 2012, 1:00 PM for the Outback Bowl.

6. Ohio State vs Florida in the Gator Bowl. Once these two teams were the best in the nation. Ohio State still was hampered by the scandals that happened before the season starts. It destroyed the team s chemistry as the season progresses for the Buckeyes to compete for the prestigious BCS games or a title in the Big Ten Conference. Of course the hiring of coach Urban Myer from Florida will juice up the excitement of this game. Florida, meanwhile, felt betrayed by Myer s taking up the coaching position for the Ohio State. Gator Bowl is on January 2, 2011 at 1:00 PM ET.

7. Nebraska vs South Carolina in the Capital One Bowl. Without a doubt, these two teams were fighting for their division supremacy but faltered a game or two. Nebraska as a new team in Big Ten Conference couldn t compete with the big guys, probably next years. Meanwhile, South Carolina Gamecocks still have a lot of things to improve to be the best team in the SEC. Both teams will settle for the Capital One Bowl which will be on January 2, 2012 at 1:00 PM.

Outside of the BCS Games, these Games will surely be much interesting to all for it will provide you competitive football.
