Kyrie Irving had been ripping it up at Duke before injury that has kept him sidelined.
Kyrie Irving started out playing highs school ball for Montclair Kimberley Academy where he lit up the league every night. Most rankings had him in the top 5, some even ranked him as high as number 1 for his high school class. He played on several select and all-state teams, starting on most of them.
Kyrie Irving had many high end colleges to choose from. he made his choice on October 22, 2009 where he chose Duke. In his first year he led Duke in scoring with just over 17 points a game average.
He was on pace to win freshman of the year until he suddered a severe ligament in his right big toe. Leaving him in cast until Feb. 4th. he is now doing rehab and trying to get back into the line up. It s tough to say how this will effect his draft position and his development.
With his amazing skill and head for the game I wouldn t bet against him making a full recovery and getting back on track rather quickly.
On a personal note Kyrie Irving s dad actually played pro basketball as well. Another cool fact is that he was born in Australia and actually lived there until he was almost 2.
We will see how he develops as a player and watch closely as he tries to make the step into the NBA in the next year or 2.
